Jagex Interferes

Beware of online gaming (and social networking)!  Specifically Jagex LTD!

I was playing their game Runescape today, I'd been gone for a couple weeks, and this is what I found in my inbox:

Dear [accountname],

We are contacting you regarding an incident which recently occurred,
which has made us aware of a real world issue.

We are sorry that you are experiencing problems in the real world and
would ask you to carefully consider your options with regards to the
problems you are facing.

We would firstly suggest taking some time to talk to a trusted adult,
perhaps your parents, a teacher or a close family friend. You'll often
find it helps to simply talk to another person, who may be able to
help you come to terms with your problem.

If you have no-one to speak to, you may wish to contact The Samaritans
in order to talk to someone about the issues you are currently
experiencing. If you live in the UK, please go to
www.thesamaritans.org for further information; if you live elsewhere
please visit www.befrienders.org.

If after taking this action you continue to experience problems, we
would suggest that you contact a fully trained medical professional/a
member of your local law enforcement agency. It is important to
realise that you are not alone - there are people who are willing and
able to help.

Please be assured that our players' safety is of enormous importance
to us and should we believe there is a genuine concern for your real
world safety, duty of care compels us to report the incident to your
local child protection or law enforcement agency - we would therefore
ask you to carefully consider your actions and the consequences they
may have, should we decide to report the incident.

We hope you carefully consider our advice and take the necessary steps
to ensure your continued safety.

First of all, let me assure you that there is no such issue.  Everything is going fine here.  But you should be concerned.  Jagex, along with the big-government ideals of the UK, believe it is their business to involve themselves in any conflict they happen to notice.  This may be the right thing to do sometimes, but they have no way of actually knowing what is going on in the real world, so any reports they make would be uninformed (and uncomfirmed: a kid could say anything they want online), with neither cause or evidence.  Jagex don't even try to contact the parents to resolve any possible issue, they go directly to the CPS/police.

Of course if you do what's right you'll have no reason to fear, remember though, there are evil laws.
Jagex may not be the only game company doing this, so watch what you say and do online.

On a happy note, it just looks like they think I'm committing suicide or something, since I removed all my friends off Runescape and canceled my subscription. (One of the sites they link to is geared toward "reducing suicide")  This may not be the case, but I am researching it more to see what they actually think is happening.  But if they really wanna know.. hehe  I'm quitting because their game got BORING!!

My First Wedding

The wedding of Tom & Sara (spelling, please correct) was glorious.  If you didn't come, you should have.  I wanted to do a lot of photography while I was there, unfortunately three things happened, which I didn't mind too much but it was sort of bothersome.

a) No photography during the service, except by the professional photographer
b) Javert had my camera T_T
c) I only had one fully charged battery for the P & S Kodak EasyShare DX7630 which is
 1) Only 6.1 megapixels
 2) Only up to 400 ISO (Sometimes it's able to go to 800 but I'm not sure why)
 3) Noisy at ISO 100, really noisy at ISO 200.. rainbow at ISO 400 and I'm not even going to tell you what ISO 800 looks like when I can get it to turn on
 4) Adding strange squiggly lines whenever you zoom into the picture
 5) Hard to control >_<
 6) Terrible autofocus
 7) Tiny range of F stops .. 2.8-8
 8) Horrible when zooming in with the lens
 9) Slow!!  Push the button, wait a few seconds.... your subject moves out of the frame... CLICK!  :(
The list goes on, believe me it does.  Despite these hardships I managed to pull off maybe 5 decent pictures of the wedding.  The rest are viewable, but not pretty.  After very much photoshopping and hard work I've recovered the lame attempts, but there's only so much can be done.

Please visit http://www.m-ka.net/wedding/ to see the 5 best pictures of all I took.  I'll be uploading all of the `usable` pictures in a separate folder, at http://www.m-ka.net/wedding/usable/ Enjoy!

The wedding itself was wonderful.  There were decorations all over the place, much laughter and happiness.  A lot of good stories were told and I think everyone had a really great time.  Best of all, now Tom & Sara (again spelling) are married!  A 6 month oops I mean week honeymoon is in order.  Sara will, no doubt, keep Tom in line without much trouble.  Soon maybe there will be little Tom & Saras running around.. can't wait!  One thing we all can be glad in is that their marriage will be blessed by God.

As for me, I have jury duty on Monday.  I'm looking forward to it, I hope I get picked (if it won't be a bother to come and go).

I'm also looking for a job, and may be entering an online college solution (Computer Science most likely).  If you have ideas on what a good first job would be (I really want something I'm capable of, I'm looking at libraries/computers) please send them my way in form of e-mail or comment.  Oh yeah, one more thing!  I'm going to get a driver's learning permit soon!  Don't be frightened, normally I'm a lot calmer.. when I'm alone.. and I'm pretty good at racing video games!  That helps, right??

The future looks bright and exciting, let's enter into it  heads up, eyes wide, and with cheerful hearts!

Even I can't fail this!

I failed that test by 3 points last time, right?  Well check out the new rule that will make it impossible to fail the retaking of the test!

I will definitely be taking a few calculators with me ( =D ) and this time I'll pass the mathematics section no problem!

What's your favorite childhood memory?

Making myself some coffee.  Folgers instant coffee shouldn't qualify as coffee.  Mmm sugar.

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!
